Well Saturday was the first chance my son in law Matt and I had time to install his Daystar 1" body lift and Poison Spyder rocker knockers. Heres a picture of before.
Heres the new stuff ready to go.
The body lift was pretty straight forward. Just took a couple of hours, and a few knuckle busters. The hardest part was lowering the fan shroud. Neither one of us has dainty arms.
The rock rails were a differant story. I was not to happy with the way they work. We read the installation directions before we ordered them. Seem straight forward. Well if you do a body lift the install is more complicated. No mention of BL changing the install in the directions. Poison Spyders rails attach, actually sit on the 3 frame brackets in the center below the doors. So when you add the 1" BL the rock rails are still in the same position as they would be if left stock. So no clearance is gained in the rocker area with the BL. Not good. I have Rokmen rails on my LJ and they mount to the floor and the tub only. So the BL I added to mine was not an issue. If any of you guys are looking at either of these Mods choose carefully. They look good and will workout fine just not what we thought when he ordered them. Heres a finished Pic.
