I installed the TrailJammer System from Edge on my 2004 Wrangler Unlimited this past week. I just came across this site and figured I would share the info! The kit comes 2 ways, one with an air intake and one without, I already had the K&N FIPK system so obviously I got the system without, although after seeing the AFE that comes with the system it looks a little bit like a nicer piece than the K&N.
The test vehicle -
04 Wrangler Unlimited Automatic
The Edge TrailJammer
Contents of the kit, thottle body, programmer (notice no wire splicing required) throttle body gaskets and other hardware to mount the box.
Throttle bodies side by side. The 3 sensors have to be removed and placed on the new TB, pretty simple, the trailjammer even comes with a torx to remove the sensors. New allen bolts supplied hold the sensor on the new TB.
Here's the Edge module mounted on the driver's fender, there were a couple locations that would have looked better, but this seemed to be the highest flat point that would avoid standing water.
Thottle body installed (no special tools are required to remove the throttle cables, they just unsnap)
Results!!! I have to admit, this setup did help. The stiffer spring in the throttle body makes for a better pedal feel. Overall the Jeep feels quicker and cruises down the highway with ease. I have been through a tank of gas and mileage hasnt been effected either. Overall I would have to say this a great product and worth the money.
*Remember this is a automatic, so drivetrain loss is signifgant over a manual truck.
15whp and 25wtrq increase
