Hello everyone -
I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before - as I was driving yesterday in 3 week old Jeep - I had a blow out or flat tire not sure which to call it. Just before my tire went flat I heard a loud bang - I thought something had hit my Jeep - then my tire is flat. The tire looks to be in fine condition except where there might be a roofers nail hole but not sure there is nothing in the tire just a round mark on the tire. Are there known problems with the factory tires?
Thank you in advance.
Newbie John

I've never heard of anything in particular - but the GSA's aren't the best tires to begin with. Just look at it as an excuse to get rid of them!

Well I took it in and there was a hole in the middle of the tread that I guess caused it to lose air pretty rapidy. Then the bead broke with a nice explosion - very wierd.

you might check the air pressure in them all...when I got mine new the GSA's were VERY OVERINFLATED!!! I mean like 45lbs in each tire...then when I got my BFG at's...the tire shop ran all of them up to 48lbs..
I always check them after some work is done now...
Blowouts usually only happen when there is something in the tire and the tire gets hot and expands(that's why you only check tire pressure when it has sat for several hours "cold").....whatever is in the tire leaves under pressure or when it rains, the water acts as a lube and makes the nail etc leave as well.
that's why you usually see alot of flat tires when it rains...
