Big Daddy Tie Rod Installed

Well a few months ago I bought the Big Daddy Tie rod to replace the dinky stock one. The install only took about an hour and I needed to have the alignment fixed but here's the photos

I'd be interested in hearing some background. Why did you upgrade? Was the alignment off by much afterward, making an unpleasant drive to the shop? Does the steering feel any different, compared to the stock components.

This is getting higher on my list. I'd like to be ready for 35's in a couple of years, and steering components are a big part of that.

I got the Big Daddy tie rod. It just replaces the stock one. Hooks up in the same place. If you do any wheling I recomend getting this on the list of things to upgrade. I bent my stock tie rod in no time. I band-aided it for awhile with my hi-lift handle.

I didn't want to toss a bunch of money into a "complete" steering upgrade, (ie: Currie or ORO...), so I went with the Big Daddy tie rod also. I wanted something that wouldn't pretzel like the stock tie rod and could be used with stock tie rod ends. (that's what sucks about the Currie ends!!!)

I just got it in the mail today, along with some of the other goodies that I ordered. It's heavy and I'm very happy with quality of this piece. I will post some pics when the LJ has had all it's "new" mods installed.

Sorry I haven't checked this post in a while. i upgraded the tie rod because I saw 2 bent on other rigs on the trail and I didn't want that to happen to me. The alignment went ok, but after installing it, it needed one badly. So far it drives like stock and I've taken it wheelin a few times afterward. If I go higher than 33's, then I'll ugrade everything else that hasn't been done yet.
