OK its nice out and I'm installing the softtop, watched the video and read the manual but a couple things are not adressed for the sunrider top.
So when you unfold the top it says to wrap and pull it tight aroud the winsheild header, no problem there but it doesn't say anything about screwing it down, seems to me there are 2 maybe 3 screws on each side that need to be pulled out and put through the canvus - can any one confirm?
thanks

I'm not sure what point your at but I wouldn't put any screws through the canvas. I have the soft top only so I didn't have to assemble the top initially. I'll look at mine on one of my breaks (I'm at work) and see of there are any screws in the headers/bows.

I just had a break and I see what you mean. There are several screws in the header, at least 4 in the rear bow an the center is velcro only. I thought that would be pre-assembled. Glad you figured it out. Enjoy the open air.

Thanks bud, it sure is nice. Softtop is a bit of a bitch though, sure is hard on the finger tips. I ordered a window bag for it today off of ebay, got to thinking where I would throw the windows when going topless - jeep should have included something for that.

If I remember correctly, the instructions that referred to the screws were on a sheet of paper that were included with the soft-top. I can't remember what the paper was packaged with (windows or rolled in with the top inside the vinyl wrap). Looks like you figured it out - yes, the screws went throught the existing holes in the canvas.
I remember when I was putting mine together last year how I couldn't imagine anybody else purchasing a $2X,XXX car and having to do some final assembly themselves. I think this is a good example of "its a Jeep thing".

Yeah so I'm sitting here surfing the LJsite and my wife comes in and asks me if this piece of paper should be kept! Dam it, it was the sheet of paper you mention, apparently when I was installing the softtop it dropped into the back of the jeep and while she was cleaning up behind me she picked it up and placed it in a safe place, to only now reveal it.. She wonders why I perfer to do things myself!

My 99 SWB only had to be attached at the center with velcro and the rear, which used snaps instead of screws like the LJ. This one was definitely more involved.
