It was 75 degrees in CT yesterday, so I wanted to take down the soft top. Once I released the windshield clamps which opens the Sunrider top, I had an extremely difficult time removing the pins that allow the top to fold back. I pulled so hard on the passenger side one that I actually broke it. The driver side finally came out with force. It took over an hour to get the top down. I didn't have this problem last fall when I took the top down. I don't know if I didn't line something up properly when I put the top up last time. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Dont tell me you didnt watch your video? Try pulling the pins first then undo the clamps. My top has been tweaked by alot of trees so everything is hard to take off.

yep thats the case with mine too,I dropped it a few times and tweaked the boughs, but as long as I pull the pins first it comes down after a fashion. Sorry to hear that bro, those plastic door surrounds aren't super cheap either, think the dealer asks something like $80 a side.

I put down the top, but putting it back up was a mudda! The spring loaded pins weren't lining up right! Finally got it though!! Good luck buddy! P.S. I hear Paragon calling.....

I bought me jeep used last year, and of course I didn't get the video. I'll have to remember to pull the pins before releasing the windshield clamps. Thanks

The video was digitized and put online over at Jeep Forum. If you can't find it there I downloaded it and could burn it to a cd or something.

One trick that was told to me was to undo the back sail panels {after you unhook the windshield clamps}, then grab the the top behind the ring and pull it forward a bit, the pin will come right out - we also took a strip of denim fabric about 6 inches long and tied it to the ring on the pin, makes pulling it much easier on the fingers when you have something to grab onto.
