You know I can do mechanical stuff but when it comes to wiring its no good. were is everyone adding accessories wires to I’m adding the power windows (needs a accessories wire) and a remote start, cb, and some others. I wish jeep would put a fuse block just for such items. They know we can’t leave well enough alone. I have a 2006 unlimited and can’t find a color code for the ignition wires. If anyone has a link or a good how to on adding a extra accessories fuse box it would help a lot. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Jesse

The only electrical thing I have added so far is a CB. I did this into the fuse panel behind the glove box. There is a good writeup for addind a circuit at WWW.MOABJEEPER.COM . It is a very easy cheep way to add in stuff. There are also 2 good writeups at WWW.STU-OFFROAD.COM . One is on a 12V Aux Fuse Block and the other is on Off-road lighting. Lastly there is a good writeup on WWW.4x4WIRE.COM on a Power wire organizer box. It is in the tech section. One of these will help you for sure. Good luck on the power windows, let us know how they work out.

Although it probably isn't the best place to do it, but there are 2 accessory jacks in the dash - one is switched and one is not (I think one is technically for a lighter). Take off the dash and you can get to the back of each of these. I tied my power doors in to the unswitched (always on). Not sure how much power your window actuators use, but it may be possible to draw power from the switched accessory jack. It has its own fuse in the dash fuse-box.

You've got the power hooked up to a constant, or continuious electrical feed. You need to be hooked up to a feed that only has power when the ignition is on. What you should do is put a relay in the circuit that is turned on and off by an ignition lead, so the relay handles the high current, not the ignition lead. If you are not familiar with auto electrics, I recommend that you hire someone who is. What you are trying to do is a simple task for an experienced person, and you're welcome to experiment with your new Jeep, but it could cause electrical problems up to and including a fire, if not done correctly.

If your looking for a quick, cheapest way to do it, yes go behind the glove box into the fuse box. Check your Jeep manual to see which is which, and see what goes off when the key is off, like your radio for example.
