I've done the power doors, but not the windows. I took off the doors and did all the work inside my house (great perk of the TJ!). The door interior comes off relatively easy, but it is held on by a lot of plastic clips that break easy (you can find replacements at auto parts stores). Here are some pics of my install: Here you can see the door with the interior off. Access to the 'inards' is not too bad, but you don't have a lot of room to work around. You can see my power lock actuator in the lower portion of the close-up. I also cut the wire around 8" from the doors and put in waterproof clips like this (this one is 4 wire, mine are 6 wire) so I can take off the doors in the summer. Here is mine The remote entry is great - much better than fumbling with keys in the dark and then leaning over the seat to unlock the other side. It works with out the remote as well, lock/unlock one side, the other goes as well. I don't lock the doors in the summer, so it is for only when I have the hard-top on, but definately worth it.

I had the power window kit on my '03, and liked it so much I put one on the '05 unlimited. I had them for three years of 'wheeling in Baja, Big Bear, the Rubicon and lots of other places with absolutely no problem. They were as smooth and reliable as any factory power window I ever had. Most people that saw them just assumed they came from the factory that way. The kit is easy to install, if you know how to pull the window-winder mechanism out and replace it. I didn't like the switch housings that came with the kit though. For three years it stuck out of the side right where my knee wanted to rest against the door. On the new Jeep, I put flat plastic disks where the window crank holes were, and purchased an accessory rectangle switch set which fit the blank plate in the dash that used to hold the switch for the passenger-side airbag. Now both the driver and passenger can work either door switch and I can happily lean my leg against the flat door. ;-)
I also installed door locks, wired into the alarm, with a rocker on/off switch mounted above the power window switches for manual operation. Having spent over ten years a an installer, I just purchased the door lock actuators, fabricated the mounting and wired them using a couple of Bosch relays I had laying around (You can buy them online for about $1.50 each). Like so many things in life, it's easy if you know how!
When I get more ambitious, I'll post some pics.
Hey, just because it's a Jeep doesn't mean I can't be comfortable!
