Anyone have an Nth Degree Oil Pan Skid on their rig? I bought one and it does not want to go in. Any info would be helpful....

Gabe Not sure about the specs on your rig, but I'm pretty sure you need a 1" body lift, 1" motor mount lift, and a slip yoke conversion to get one of the Nth Degree Skids on??? Those were the reasons that I was going to go with a different company for mine... I could be wrong about the slip yoke being necessary...but you may want to give them a call.

Oil pan I think is what he is asking about. And for that, I don't think any BL or MM lift is necessary. I know to run the t-case flat version and, not the 1.25" drop t-case version, you need a 1" BL & 1" MM lift. Check out Jeep Medic fabrication. Good t-case skid and oil pan/engine skid. Just tossing that out there. just checked Nth's site and it doesn't say anything about needing a 1" BL or 1" MM for the oil pan. www.nthdegreemobility.com/products.htm

I'm looking at the Skid Row skidplates for mine. I got hung up on my "shovel" (stock belly skid plate) last weekend. It dug into a tree stump and I ended up carving an inch off the top of the stump. It made a god-awful amount of noise. But the Skid Row plate bolts up to the front of the "shovel" and makes a nice and smooth belly skid. I'm also going to get their gas tank skid when I replace my stock rear bumper and get rid of my receiver hitch. www.skidplates.com

I had looked into the Nth degree skid. I found a good write up on it, but can't find it now. What I remember was that it was very tight around the exhaust. There is also one side that was very hard to get up into to get the bolt started. I was going to go with it but it does not cover anything else. So I ended up with the WWW.SKIDROW.COM engine/oil skid. If you have an automatic you remove the trans skid also known as the shovel. The new skid covers the oil pan and you have to drill 3 holes in the transfer case skid. It bolts in so easy. With the coverage from the oil pan all the way to the transfer case you have 1 long flat surface up front. It makes the underside like a sled. I got to try it out at the French Lick Jeep Jamboree this past weekend and it worked great. The only down side is access to the oil filter. WWW.4X4XPLOR.COM has a great write up. I also did the futoba oil drain plug also on that site. I am waiting for the skid row gas tank skid to arrive. It fits over the existing tank with out having to drop the tank. I will let everyone know when I get it in. I ordered the skids from WWW.4X4ROCKSHOP.COM ,they have the best prices and had free freight. They also sell the Nth Degree skids as well. I have used these guys before and they are great.

x2 on the guys at 4x4rockshop - I ordered my Spidertrax spacers from them, they arrived 2 days later as promised, and they even threw in some candy in the boxes, must have known me well!!! As for skid plates, I went with the Mopar/Warn oil pan/transmission plate, bolted up fairly easily and seems to get the job done. I bought it because it was cheap and at the time I wasn't sure which route I wanted to go as far as a lift is concerned. From everything I read it seemed like you needed to decide on the lift first, skid plates second.

I was talking about the oil pan skid only. I would love to do a belly up on the rig but I do not do all that much 4 wheeling with it. If my wife gets in one more accident I will have give my wifes car back to her so and suffer with the cost of the fuel with the jeep. Of ocurse I would have to pry the keys from her.
I bought the Nth Deg. skid from a guy on jeepforum and it is in good condition (1 scratch) for $125 delivered. I think it is a skid, nice and heavy duty.

I have the Nth. It is a tight fit but a little pry bar or hammer tap will edge it by the exhaust pipe just fine. If you want, you can loosen the exhaust pipe at the precats to get more movement and if you keep it pryed away from the skid while tightening it back up , it wont ever move and rattle on the skid

Would you recoment the nth degree belly up skid??? I am running the Skid row engine and trans skid is anyone running this combo?? will it bolt up...... Nth says i will have to make a couple of cuts to make the skid row unit work with their belly up pan....
