I was getting ready to order the Skid Row engine and gas tank skids. So I crawl under my LJ to look at where they would attach. From the information Skid Row shows it sounds like the skid attaches in the back to the transfer case skid. It says you have to drill 3 holes. Well it appears that there is a Trans skid already on the Jeep, with an extra support bracket that runs between the frame. So mostly all that is exposed is the oil pan. Which I noticed I have already dented. Has anyone used these skids or others like them? Would I be better off just using the Nth Degree oil pan skid only? What are most of you using?

Since no one knew the answer to my questions I called Skid Row today. I will pass along the answers I got in case anyone else ever wants to buy these skids. The engine /oil skid requires the trans skid (that only the automatics have) to be removed before the new skid is installed. The new skid goes from the oil pan to the transfer case skid. By attaching to the trans skid it helps eliminate getting hung up by the trans skid, also nicknamed the shovel. As for the gas tank skid,it fits over your existing tank and skid and does not require removing or dropping the gas tank to install. There is a nut stick kit that they are adding just for the Unlimited. It makes the install easier. But you have to ask for the kit when you order.
