hey guys, check this out. . . .cost me 20 bucks at walmart - let me know if you're interested in the details. also, tell me some of your critiques or if you like them. it's pretty tight and won't flap around. Totally removeable in a hurry, but it takes some time to get everything on the way I did it. I love the Rock-itmans custom nets, but could'nt spring for the set. this does the trick for me, for now at least. for those of you interested in what the clover window roll looks like while on - take a look, it's the roll sitting above the softtop. my trail cover comes this week, so i probably won't have windows/top on for at least a month or so.

Very good job. My attempt at a home made job looked something you'd find in the dumpster at a trailer park.

i've been searching for something I could use for this application for a while now. It's actually walmart's nylon stretch net that a motorcyclist would use to secure an extra helmet to the back of their bike. they were under 5 bucks each. Measurements were 15"x15" which I thought would be way to small, but turned out when tight to be just rigid enough to keep my dog from stretching his way out of there. I also bought their "no scratch hook straps" or something like that. they were a dollar a piece and come in packages of two. I used 8 or 10 of them, not sure. the bottom hooks are in the longer hardtop mounting holes. the top hooks are secured with the straps. I am happy it didn't look too amature in the end.
The other choice would be a truck bed cargo net strung along the whole top. it was just under 20 bucks but I believe it would look like garbage.
anyway, thanks for the compliment. i'm about to go take pup for a cruise. I'll get a picture with him in it for you fellas.

I like the look or the Raingler product a little better, but I am a gear-guy, so I like all the big straps and buckles and stuff. It looks like the visibility is a lot better out of your homemade job though, and costs a heck of a lot less.

yea, it's definitely a different look. I can't help but think mine look like a spider web, good thing halloween is coming right?
all kidding aside, I like the way both look. visibility with mine is not an issue whatsoever, I just hope my dog doesn't figure out that he can eat his way through. I'm thinking of ways to do the back now. you know the PVC pipe support "J" brackets for suspending the 6" pipes? I was thinking of picking up just a few of those and krylon'ing them black then hitching them to the sport bar along the back between bunjees - we'll see. I'm working with a pretty handy "SUV pet divider" now, and it works so I doubt I'll get around to it. thanks for the comments fellas
