I'm having the same issue. They sell a CB rack specifically for this. It's not any different for the Unlimited than for the regular TJ's. www.cbrack.com/Looks like they are out of stock now, but check out www.quadratec.com and see what they have. I think they have one as well for like $75.00. I think I'm mounting mine up on my dash, where the little rubber mat is abover the stereo. I'm taking the rubber piece out. It will require drilling 2 small holes there, but if I decide to move the CB, I can put the rubber piece back in and it will cover it. We are going to hardwire the CB in instead of using the cig. lighter and run the wires behind the dash.

Are we sure this fits the 04 Unlimited? I mean the Tuffy overhead console. I just saw one go for 142.00 brand new in box on ebay. I also want to put the K&N intake on does this fit the Unlimited? Does this Void the waranty? Does anyone have a better idea? Thanks, Mike

I'll ask my husband about the warranty issue. We spoke with the service manager about these issues, what can you do/can't you do that will void warranties. He said that they have to be able to prove that whatever you did to the vehicle messed up whatever is wrong.....so if you put an intake filter on it, that will not void the warranty. Keep your old one anyways. But no, it will not void your warranty. Now say you put big 35" tires on your jeep and didn't change the gearing and you started having trouble with your driveline or axles, then that might give you trouble with your warranty or say you drive your jeep into a mudhole that goes over your axle, that voids your warranty, but putting a new air intake does not. My husband took his air horn off the front of his (you know what i'm talking about?) and has also put a bored out throttle body in his and had it in for service and had no problems so you shouldn't either.
As for the CB console. As long as it goes up to the 04 it should fit. The only difference in the Unlimited is the wheel base really.
Good luck.

Mike, I don't believe there will be any difference in the roll bar position in the Unlimited but have not gotten to confirm this. The Overhead length will adjust from from 28" to 36.5". If the distance between your roll bar and windshield frame falls in this range, you should be good.

I've used the CB Rack in my '03 Rubi when I had it and it worked very nicely. I know it'll fit the Unlimited as well and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality product at an inexpensive price.

Mike, cool pictures of the install. My problem is that I want to try to not drill holes in the dash. How does the CB ride inthat location? Dave

HI, Pics 9,11,12,13 Show how I mounted a bracket to the little coin tray above the ac vents. I did this so when I get my tuffy overhead I can move the cb up to the tuffy OHC and then put the rubber piece back in the coin tray and no one will ever know it was there. The only thing I don't like is if you look the radio is sitting a little off because it is too close to windshield. I think a smaller radio would fit fine. But this is only temp install. I took my time did a good job BUT it is still only temporary. I also had to get a 90* angle adapter for the antena coming out of the back of the cb. There was no way it would work without it. I also used a dremel tool to grind down the self tapping screws I used to mount the bracket. The big plastic piece that holds the radio and ac vents etc. is really easy to pop out and put back in. This also lets you get better access to the head unit of your am/fm radio. Look closer at those pics I think you will see what I am talking about. Any ? let me know. I thought you were installing an overhead I wanted to see the pics. Peace \/ Mike
