I had my Unlimited fitted with the factory skid plates. At first oil change, dealer told me to expect some oil residue from skidplate. Well! I must have had a pint of used oil drain from that plate onto my driveway!
I find it hard to believe that Chrysler/Jeep does not have a better method of dealing with an oil-change on those Jeeps fitted with the factory skid plates.
What a mess!

That is unacceptable, if they cannot do it better then that I would tell them to drop it, when they change it. I would be complaining for sure.

I agree! Now that I know, next time I will insist that they drop the plate, or clean it with a pressure washer, or cat litter!
There must be some other method.
BTW, should I stay with carbon-based, or go synthetic?
At least synthetic would double the intervals!
