Hello Everyone, Today I saw a Jeep Wrangler(Softop) on the road and he had his rear window rolled up (Like a shade). Is it possible that I can do that with my 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited? It looks simple enough to ddo, however im not sure how to do it. Thanks in advance for your help. Rich..

Zip up each side of the back, until you clear the snaps on the rear bow. You should have received a couple matching straps with your rig, which you would use to snap up the rolled rear window.
I've never actually done this, but it should work fine.

Thanks Tim, I think there is straps in a little bag in the center console. Ill check it out. Really appreciate your help. I love this Rig. Had a 1995 Jeep Wrangler S a few years ago and loved it. Unfortunately it was stolen and never recovered. My Unlimited has the chrome tube bumpers front and back with the chrome runnning boards. Was this stock or something the previous owner could have added? Rich..

It may be a Mopar accessory that the dealer added. I don't know if Mopar makes tube bumpers in chrome or not.
We drove ours less than a mile from the dealer to Desert Rat for lift, tires, and tire carrier. The previous owner may have done the same.
Just wait until you get that ride offroad. The Unlimited is great offroad.

just be careful when rolling up the back window. it tends to get scratched up. ???i've rolled mine up several times and now it has scuff marks all over. I would strongly recommend buying a window storage bag and removing the windows fully.

The rear window scratches super easy. Clean the window BEFORE you roll it up.

I would also recommend a window storage bag. They cost about $130 for the unlimiteds, and allow you to store your windows flat. The rear window will roll up with the snaps and straps provided, but I have foung that the newer straps don't hold the window up as tight as my Dad's older TJ.
IMHO Window bags are the wy to go.

All the 04/05 straps are like this, to get around it, wrap it around the 3rd bow once and it will shorten the strap enough to where it holds the windows snuggly. also, if you wrap, say, a beach towel up with the rear window it will keep the scratches off and still allow you to roll around with your rear window attached.

Thanks for the advice...I always keep a couple of good sized towels for rain "incidents, and for instances like this. Otherwise, the windows go into the window bag and hung in the garage.

I found out they scratch up the hard way - 3 weeks into mine, the back window looked 3 years old. I picked up a new one for 40 bucks from someone locally who only wanted the tinted sides for his TJ, so I lucked out. I'll keep mine on until it's too hazy to see, then I'll just change it out for those days when you know you're going to screw stuff up.
