If this needs to be moved please feel free. I just wanted to pass along some information regarding an event that happens every year in my tiny little town. Every October around 7500 Civil War reenactors get together and reenact the Battle of Cedar Creek here in Middletown VA - it is one of if not the only reenactment that happens on the actual place where the original battle was fought plus it is one of the largest. It is a lot of fun even if you aren't a Civil War buff, plus the sounds of all the guns and the cannons is awesome { my windows rattle for two straight days - its great!!}. There a lots of pictures if you go to the link, there is a tab with 2004 reenactment pictures.
If you go, Sunday is probably the better day, unless you want to make a weekend out of it.

btt - hope no-ones minds, figured I would put this back up as it gets closer. If you have kids or if you ever wondered what two dozen civil war cannons and a couple of thousand muskets going off at the same time sounds like, this is a great event to come check out.
The Battlefield is located about 2 minutes off of Interstate 81 in the Northern Shenandoah Valley Region of Virginia - about 15 minutes south of Winchester VA.

Who won last year? Sounds like a real experience. My closest battlefield is Glorietta Pass, just outside of Santa Fe.
