I think it's alright BUT, hopefully DC has heard the cries and will put the 4.7L in it!!!!!!!!!! Then I'd be SERIOUSLY INTERESTED in one.

now i like that. Now if i can only convince my wife to sell her 2005 dodge crappy van to buy the 4 door jeep,it would be a lot easier to get my 2 year old in and out of the back seat with out breaking my back, not that it's easy with the van,but to own a 4 door jeep would be cool......and i would have room to bring my little sheltie "miniature collie"as well........... but i would never sell my unlimited now that i know it will be a collectors item...........

In terms of function, there's a lot of cool stuff, but on looks it's crap. If I wanted doors I'd buy an suv, it looks even worse than the H3. I wouldn't buy it. Also the wait for after market parts to be made for it would be too long. If for some reason I couldn't get another unlimited, then I'd look for the CJ Scrambler (?) that has a similar wheel base.

Apologies in advance, but I'm new to the board... So this means our current Unlimited model is orphaned? I figured I would be telling people I have an Unlimited Coup, but I didn't consider that someday when I need a body part it won't exist. Kind of blows my plan of never having to buy another one!

Welcome to the board, Duke. I am still fairly new to the Jeep World myself, but I don't think we are going to have any issues with finding parts in the future. The increasing obsession has me reading Jeep catalogs front to back and I have come to realize that Jeeps will never run out of a steady supply of parts both old and new. Like you, I also plan on never buying another one, just constant and continuous modification.

What Chris said is right. Also, 90% of the Unlimited is the same as the regular TJ, of which there are certainly millions. Its really only a few things, like the longer rear quarterpanels or the longer windows and roll cage. Most of that can be had in the aftermarket too. You'll not run out of replacement parts for a while, so you are free to flop your junk! And welcome to the board.

Rename the site? Are you kidding me? Write on the front page it says "Join the Wrangler Unlimited 'discussion board' about these long Wheel Base TJ's"
Let em go over to JKBoard.com.
or maybe i'm taking things too literally? Nah, I have my Jeep Club for normal Jeep forums for my local area, but I come to this site for stuff specific to LJ's.
