Man 2drlj - You got me lookin like a mad man at Rubicon's now! hahaha Found a VERY nice one about 2 hrs from me but it's the 6spd manual and I really want an auto - I guess if I'm really going to dump the Jeep I love, I have to hold out for one I 'might' love even more so I'm telling myself to pass on it - but it's VERY nice. lol Impact Orange, never offroad, 22k miles, dual tops and pampered. I'd beat the living snot out of it and it would love me..dang manual tranny!

Back to your initial post . . . . I am running the 6 speed manual with the stock Rubicon 44 and the stock 4:10 gears, turning 35s I have no issues at all and the craw in 4 low is right on. From some of the research I did once you start to go much bigger in gears (5:13 and up) the pinion size has to be smaller and with the added leverage of the bigger and heaver tires they become good trail stories. I have also up graded the front shafts to chrom-Molly and have plans to do the same in the rear. As far as drive ability it works great, now mind you I am not going to pull up beside some little sports care and race them side by side ( just drive over them ) but I have no loss of power with the manual.

Well I guess I went against the grain, and I just ordered up 5.13's. With the added weight of my armor, bumpers, etc., I didn't want to wish I had gone to 5.13's if I had 4.88's installed. I'm pretty easy on the gas pedal, and with the Jeep being on the road 90% of the time, it needed to get some "pep" back! It is just a dog on the highway, or @ a light. I will let you guys know how I like 'em once there in.

RubiRed,
If you drive hwy, you may be disappointed. My rig 05LJ-35s-4.88-6spd.
~3000 @ 70mph speedo dead on confirmed by GPS.
The 5.13 will be sweet off-road, not too sure if you have to drive hwy miles.
YMMV Paul
