Last night in my 2006 Unlimited w/ fewer than 5000 miles, the "check gauges" light lit up during a short trip from home. I had driven it approx 30 miles (highway and city) earlier during the day.
The oil pressure gauge was fine. The amp/volt meter (not sure what the correct term is) read just under 14.
After parking the car and restarting the light never lit again.
Should I take it in to have it looked at or wait until it lights and stays lit.
any help is appreciated.

Rather than type it myself, I just grabbed this from another forum: First, you could have displayed your own error codes by turning the ignition key on-off-on three times within five seconds and waiting for the codes to display in your odometer. The Check Engine light will pulse the codes too. Have patience, it takes several seconds for the codes to begin displaying. Done properly, it will always display at least a '55' code. Click on www.allpar.com/fix/80s-codes.html for more about that and what the codes mean.I have used this technique myself. My 2004 threw a code once, and it turned out to be nothing more than my gas cap not screwed on tight.
