Hello. This is my first post and although I do not have an LJ my girl does. I am installing 4" springs + 1bl and adj arms/35s ETC. on her jeep but was wondering about driveline vibes. Have you guys had any luck running the MML without going to a SYE setup? It may be close as the driveshaft is about 9-10" longer on hers and springs seem to net about 3/4" less than advertised lift on hardtop LJs than myTJ. Thanks in advance- Marcus BTW.Nice site 32s w/2" springs

The advantage of a MML is; you do not have to modify the fan shroud and play with the transfer case linkage once you install the BL.

The advantage of a MML is; you do not have to modify the fan shroud and play with the transfer case linkage once you install the BL. The MML does help compensate for the BL as far as the front half of the engine goes but, has nothing to do with Tcase linkage. You still need to mount the linkage to the transfercase with a seperate bracket to avoid bind. You want the driveline angle to match at the pinion and output shaft on a non SYE setup. I think the maximum operating angle is about 10-12 degrees without an SYE and no vibes. I have heard that 4" is the max without an SYE on a LJ. I was hoping by tilting the trans downard with the MML and playing with pinion angle, I could get away without it for now. Thanks -Marcus

I've never read about anybody with vibe problems in an LJ with 4" of lift. Adding an 1" BL and 1" MML shouldn't cause you any problems, but every Jeep is different. You're certainly on the hairy edge.
At the very worst, you could drop in some washers and lower the t-case skid until the vibes go away.
