So, how many miles have you gone with the gas light on? I know it's not good to run out & you risk sucking crud up, water condensation, etc... I'm just curious as to the mileage people get.. so...

I did almost 60 kms, towing an empty double snowmobile trailer.
Risky though.

I don't know how much you can drive without the motor shutting off. I did drive a little over 20 miles after the light came on but I still wasn't too close to the E yet.
That being said, I didn't want to learn the hard way how much gas I had left.
As it turns out, I only had to fill around 16.5 gallons when I did fill her up.

I've pushed it to 45 miles, but that was a bit too far for my piece of mind to do it again...

I frequently go further than 25 after the light. I guess there is at least 2 gallons left, possibly 3. As I usually get 16 mpg, I go 30-45 miles without any problems. Longer than that and you are living on the edge.

I rarely ever get down to the light. I fill up at just under a 1/4 tank. This would be a good question for my wife. She always waits for the light to come on. Then she parks so I take her Jeep and have to fill it. I think it's some sort of a game she plays.

I usually average about 30-50 miles after the light comes on.

I've gone 50 miles (on a road trip where there were no gas stations until then). Even at that point, it took 16.3 gallons to fill the tank up...so, I had 2.7 gallons left. I typically just run it until the light goes on, and then get gas on the way to or from work. 14-15 gallons to fill up, so there's still 4 or 5 gallons left in the tank.

I've frequently gone well over 30 miles after the light goes on. My commute is 27.5 miles, one way. Once the light went on a few miles into my commute to work, and I decided to push the envelope. I made it back to the gas station at the corner near my house and put right about 18 gallons in.
On our last trip to Colorado, towing our camper up the mountains, we stopped in Flagstaff for gas, according to my "plan". I was nervous because I knew I was close to empty. The 18.75 gallons I pumped in confirmed it.
Yes, they are indeed 19 gallon tanks, or at least 18.75 gallons.
