I have found that when you lift a TJ or LJ that the rear shock cans will come in contact with the lower spring pads under severe articulatuion. The TJ I had before had 3.5 RE Super flex on it and I crushed the cans on the rear shocks enough to ruin them, several times. I ran a 2" coil spacer for awhile on my LJ and only put a tiny ding in the can under full flex. Now that I have the OME 2.5 I would guess that I will have more flex and Im worried about ruining a expensive OME shock. I did grind away a little bit of the lower spring pad to help clear the shock. I bought a set of the JKS shock relocater brackets but I cant bring myself to cut off the the factory mounts yet. Anyone have experince with the OME lift and clearence or any ideas would be great. Thanks Travis

I have had the OME for over a year and never had any problem with the rear shocks. I have had it in some tough spots without any problem.

Hmm, The shocks I crushed where Doestech shocks that come with the RE Kits. The OME shock has a bigger can then these so it will be more susceptible to getting banged. Its not the terrain, its when you flex the lower part of the shock will hit the lower spring pad. I ended up buying the RE extreme shocks and the can would bolt to the body tub and the piston arm would bolt up on the axle side. This way it would clear. It worked great other than the horrible ride the shocks provided. I will take a pic today to try to explain it better. Travis.

I see you have the TT. I was told that you need the shock relocators if you change the pinion angle to compensate for a TT, so I guess it would be a good idea to slap those things on. With the LJ, the pinion angle with a moderate lift and no TT is not as bad as the TJ, hence you don't need shock relocators. This is just what I was told by someone else.

Im still running the stock CA's so my pinion angle hasn't changed. I now what your talking about though, come to think of it I did have the pinion angle changed on my TJ with those crappy cam bolts. Thats why I only had a small ding in the can on the LJ vs. having half of it crushed the TJ. Thanks for the input Cambo. I like the the bolt on mounts that wv4X4 recomended, I think I might pick up a set of those and sell the JKS mounts I have. If anyone wants them my loss is your gain lets say $35.00 + shipping.
