Does anyone have any pics with their LJ sporting a bikini top?
What about a safari top?
Also, has anybody here installed a kargomaster cage or Garvin Wilderness rack? If so, do you have pics?
Thanks!

I don't have any pics, but I can tell you that I had trouble with the Bestop Safari fitting on my '05. It would not fit at the windshield, so I returned it. Don't know if this was due to another difference between the '04 & '05 or not.

I've heard it's a real pain in the arse to get it the bikini to fit to the bar the first time, but after that it's okay....all I have experience with is my 1/2 top and the retaining bar was already fixed to the top.

It was the retainer bar. It seemed like my windshield is curved very slightly and the bar was almost perfectly straight. It would not fit without bending the retainer bar. I was wondering if it was a diff between the '04 & '05.

As far as I know there was a slight change in the year 2003, but that the 2004's and 2005's were the same (as far as windshields go...maybe you got a bad retaining bar...I'd ask this question on a message board that caters to SWB Wranglers... there's a lot of "know it alls" over there who should be able to set you straight...

I'll do that. After having the trouble with the safari and returning it, I decided to just use the factory top with the windows removed. I was surprised at how well it did driving down the road. The only thing nice about the safari top is that the frames sidebars are out of the way.

I have the safari top for my 04, but I just took it off because of thunderstorms and I didn't take any pictures. It was a pain to put on the first time. The channel is slightly curved on the ends of the header. I had to mount the header and install the top while standing in the front seats. It works great and my only dislike is that the rear straps loosen slightly when I get on the freeway and it flaps a little. It's great from the roll bar forward. I'll get pictures when the storms pass in a couple of days or so.

We get entirely too much rain in this part of the country for a bikini to really be useful. I like riding with the windows off for some open air, and shade when it is really brutal out.

heres mine ... used it once, and went back to the factory top. More shade on the arms. The safari top tucks around the roll bar without the door surrounds and you lose about 2-3" As far as fit , no prob on my 05

I didn't know how I felt about them at first, but now they've really grown on me! Thanks!! It took a while to grow on me too...but having it in the Spring/Summer is nice. Keeping that sun from beating down on me in rush hour traffic made it worth every penny. I can take it off in about 5 minutes, and put it back on in about 10 minutes...if it's so hot that I want AC, or if it is going to rain (which it does a lot in Oregon). I'd say at least once a week, another Jeep driver would pull alongside and ask where I got the top.
