Do we have a rev limiter set at around 4k? Today I accidentally popped her into neutral (I have AT) and stomped the go-go. . . . she went to 4k and no more. . . .gave me a waaa . . waaa. . .waaa. . . waaa. . . . . is this something I should take to the dealer?

I don't know if this is true in neutral, but my 2004 has been close to 5 grand a few times, towing in the Colorado mountains.
If these vehicles are so smart, why can't they fly yet? Freakin' Jetsons...

after a few calls to a few dealers, they all say that "yes there's a rev limiter" but I can't tell whether they're trying to get out of a goose chase job, or telling the truth. anyone feel like stomping the gas in neutral and letting me know if their engine sounds like it's being tortured at 4g's. I have an 05 auto

I never heard of a rev limiter with an auto tranny... never thought about it...
As for the manuals, I have to believe the limit is higher than 4k. I can't remember when I was near that point, but that seems a little low. Judging from the tach, it would be just past 5k. I will have to give it a try tomorrow...

I got past 5k in both 1st and with foot on the clutch.
I doubt it would be any lower with an auto tranny...
