Hi there! based on the other threads, I'm not alone in my transmission questions.
The auto likes to 'hunt' between 3rd and 4th. sometimes upshifting, sometimes just letting me floor the accelerator until the engine bogs down to about 1k rpms (going up a hill), then upshifting.
Has anyone tried changing the computer shift points with one of those OBD-II computer interface tools.
I know they can be used for both tweaking the engine settings for improved power and efficiency, and for adjusting how the electronics work.
Thanks!
J

I usually turn the O/D off when I'm driving in the city and just use 4th when I'm on the highway. This helps quite a bit, but a problem remains in that the torque converter will then lock up in third and it takes a large throttle input to "force" a downshift. Sometimes on hills I just downshift manually.
