I've been wanting to get an automatic (I've outgrown the fun factor of a stick) but then with a 6 speed coming out 1st gear would be better & I'd think fuel economy would be a tad better too?
Thoughts??

I was thinking with the six speed the 1st gear is probably a granny gear. Love my Auto thouogh. ;D Dave

i have the six speed. ist is definally lower, but no granny. the main difference is the forgiveness of early shifting and skipping gears. i typically shift 2,4,6 @ 3,0 rpm. helps with gas milage.

First gear is 4:1 as opposed to 3.75'ish to 1 in the AX-15 and NV3550, the two previous offerings in 4.0 TJ's.

Big Sigh...They only had auto available when I got mine (2004.5). I don't think I will ever outgrow the fun-factor of a manual transmission.
