Got the new unlimited rubicon home today. Drove it around a while, took it to dinner. Came out of the restaurant, started it, threw it in reverse and nothing. The engine revved but no movement. Put it in park, then reverse and nothing. Tried it again and third time a charm. This happen to any of you? Not too worried but just wondering.

willing to bet you put it either in 6th gear, or not fully in reverse...the 6 speed takes some getting used to

I haven't experienced this with my '04 Auto. If it happens again, proving not to be a fluke, you should take it to the dealer.
I've also not heard of this on any of the Jeep forums I'm on daily.

There is a technical service bulletin for the auto trannies. Something about delayed shifting into reverse from park. I think it's the TCM (Transmission Control Module). Take it to the dealer and tell them to fix it.

I get this every now and then when I shfit from reverse to drive, or vice versa without pausing to let the Tranny catch up. It gives a slight pause, and I hear a little grinding...It has made me drive like a granny in parking lots. Not a problem If I am careful with it, and don't slam it from front to back.
