Guests should be allowed to view posts and search. You'll get a lot more members if people can see what the place is about without going through the "official" process of signing up. Don't allow them to post, but at least let them view... They should also be able to search (I didnt' try this before I registered though) this will cut down on the number of repetitive requests for info that you might see. Now that I look, I registered but I'm apparently not logged in (it's tough to read the white words on the light beige header...) so maybe you can post as a guest... I'm a nooooob, forgive me

As an administrator of another message board similar to this, and a moderator on here, I can say that allowing "guests" to post, search, read posts, etc... isn't such a good idea. As an administrator, you want to build up membership numbers. With more members posting/searching/reading/lurking/whatever...the board will become "better" and more active. If everyone just sat back and read things from the background and never signed in or contributed, the board would become stagnant. What the users don't reallize is that a lot of time and effort (and a little cash) is being put into this site by the administrator, who wants this to become a great club for unlimited owners. If people sign up (which is free...other than 2 minutes of your time), more likely than not, they will reply to a topic or start a new one...if they don't, then all they've lost is 2-minutes of their time, and that's not such a big deal. Sign up and post often...

Thanks Chad, that's exactly right. Also, not all of the board is member only but I feel that, as explained well above, if you want the whole experience (and in the future I hope to add more benefits to membership) registering is worth it
