Hey whats up guys I joined this forum becuase I'm looking for a Jeep - either a Scrambler or an unlimited. Looking for info on both... dk welcome well, depending on the Scrambler they could cost about the same although I bought mine for about 9 grand in '85 (new) Scramblers are nostalgic, uncomfortable (compared to a modern vehicle) could have issues passing a smog test (if required) ..but they are packed with wow appeal for jeepers in the know Unlimiteds are better family vehicles, more comfy & will most likely have less issues to deal with right out of the box.. ie rust, modifications from PO's (prior owners), tired engines & drive trains keyed rear axles (if not upgraded) which will eventually spin & leave you stranded.. ask me how I know that! It happened to me in Italy of all places! Well, this is a start, I know there are a few other CJ8 owners here, lets let them chime in

i have owned a few scramblers and was going to build another one. i decided on a 4.0 rubicon unlimited which i am in the process of buying now. so, i decided on the unlimited this time. i still have a scrambler title and a few parts and may build a new one based on a new frame on day.

Let's see.... I own an unlimited, and love the longer wheelbase over my TJ and YJ I also plan on winning the scrambler that is being raffled off by a scrambler association. Drawing isn't till next year, but I look forward to buying a 1 way ticket so that I can drive it home. I've already won by owning a Jeep and donating to a great cause.
