Got my Unlimited 4/20/04, had it about 1 1/2 weeks and took it to the shop for transmission troubles. Seemed to stall when taking off from a stop. Seemed to get stuck in gear a lot. Was told the valve body was bad. Valve body was replaced. Got it back and a few days later took it back for transmission troubles AGAIN. Same issue, something else causing valve body to act up so they replaced the transmission housing or something like that and chalked it up to faulty part being installed at the factory. Had it back 4 days and on the way to test it out on the trail and wrecked! Go to my webpage and you can see the carnage. Crested a hill in a group of jeeps and there just happened to be a lifted Dodge Durango in front of me that had stopped on a dime and I had no where to go and hit him and the guy behind me in a YJ hit me. $9500 in damage later and I still don't have my Unlimited back. The wreck was on May 22nd and it's almost the end of June. The Unlimited had to have a new front axle put in and a whole bunch of other stuff. I got mine the first week of April, and I've already broken 4,000 miles. I've been unhappy with the trans in mine, but after reading these posts, I'm feeling kinda lucky.
That wreck just looks way too painful.
