I have been screwing around over a year trying to decide what rear bumper tire carrier I was going to get. I really wanted corner protection and was just going to order Jeeperman when they went out of business. Found this guy on Jeepforum and looks like he kames a nice product at a real fair price. Should have it by the end of next week. I ordered it right from him on Jeepforum and saved some Ebay $$$. I'll post up when it gets here. Here is a link if any one is looking for one. tinyurl.com/2bff39

Definitely is a nice price even on eBay for that bumper. The only downside looks to be the frame tie-ins. Keep us posted once you get!

Not sure what the downside is. Are there better ways to make tie-ins? He says they are 3/8" with grade 8 bolts. I thought that seemed like plenty. I am replacing a tow bar that has acted as my recovery point and for towing my Camper. This is mounted with many fewer bolts so I was Ok with what this one came with. I'll let ya know when it gets installed!

Ok I see the tie-ins at the bottom now. For under $500 it seems like a nice bumper/tire carrier. Where are they located at?

He's located in Virginia. If you want to see more check out www.Jeepforum.com and look in the Fabrication forum. His name is Eddie and he is a moderator in that forum under the screen name (bersek) I think. At least it's close to that.

I have been lurking in the Fab section of JF, but never really took a look at the pinned threads. He seems like he makes stout stuff. As stated before keep us posted

I've known Eddie on the 'net for many years. He's a top notch fabricator, loves building stuff and gives a well engineered product at a great price. You won't be disappointed with anything you get from Eddie at GroundPounderFab.

Awesome.... I may have to start saving my pennies!
After your original post I spent several hours reading his (bersak) sticky thread on these bumpers. Zach from A to Z has commented on his work too.
Are you getting any of the attachments, Jerry can holder, high-lift?

I have the high lift attachment. Just didn't have the jack with when I installed it to know where to put it. I didn't think I would ever need the jerry can. A tanker truck to follow me maybe! I read the whole thread to. That's what made me go this way. He does a real nice job and at very fair price. I think with all the stuff I got with it, the price with shipping was $617.00. The options were the corners, the 3rd brake light and the high lift attachment.

I hate to bring back old threads, but I just purchased a bumper/swing out from Zach at AtoZ Fabrications. One option I wish I had gotten was a third brake light replacement. Could you get a better picture of how the third brake light is fabed and mounted on your carrier. From the picture I can see that you are using the existing brake light wiring.
Thanks,
Chris
