That engine compartment is a mess. The whole thing sounds a little weird - the guy doesn't seem to know that much about it, which would scare me away. If it is a prototype, how did this person get a hold of it? Apparently this is a prototype of an Egyptian Army Jeep. DCX took the TJ and stretched the rear compartment to fit 2 benches over the wheel wells to seat more troops. This is how the LJ was started. I'm not sure about the older ones, but the newer models have the diesel in them. This *may* have been a prototype - 2001 sounds about right. The Egyptian models are right-hand drive tho. Chrysler is making the new JK's with CRDs in Egypt, but as far as I know they are only for the army. I don't understand why they don't offer them here - they have already done the R&D - all they would need to do is get it to pass emissions (I think they would sell enough to justify the costs). I would buy one!

Makes sense that it would be an Eygptian vehicle. We build M1A1 tanks in Cairo now too. You would be surprised at how many vehicles that we think of as "American" are built to other specs in other countries. That air filter looks funky.

How about the bolt on front guard? I think they would get a few buyers on something like that.

People put those cummins 4bt's in everything now a days. Not too out of the ordinary.
