As I took off my hardtop last spring, I compiled all the hardware in a bag, I chucked them on the hardtop in the garage, and like most people thought, 'Ill worry about getting them a secure place later"
Well, Winter is here guys, and that hardware is loooong gone.
What should I do? Can I pick them up at the Hardware store?
Thanks in advance, and Happy Holidays.

You could also get some after market parts to replace the factory hardware. I have seen some stuff on the Quadratec site, looks like clamps and other items. Might be easier to put on than those bolts. Maybe the same price as the dealership. IMO...........Good luck

Ace hardware should have all of that stuff. I went to put the steps back on the Jeep when I got tired of jumping and I was able to find the zinc coated, grade 8 bolts there. I think it was 25 cents a piece.

The original bolts for the bottom are rectangular. I assume it spreads out the load some. They may be hard to find. You can substitute some counter top joint fasteners that have a similar bolt. Any big box store will have them.

Try the salvage yard. I think you will want the rectangulat block nut to make things easier. I salvaged a few from my totalled LJ just for that reason.

Just hope that you've got the little rubber winshield seals.

Howdy,
The nuts are rectangular so they will not spin once you go to tighten them down. That way you don't need two wrenches to put them on.
The factory soft tops are the most quiet. Bestop has a special top they call Sailcloth and they say it is the quietest. However, I have ridden in a new soft top from the factory for the last year and it is quietier than the sailcloth tops from Bestop that I have ridden in with friends. However, they are not as nice to their jeeps as I am. They really pound their Jeeps offroad.
Have a good one!
