First of all, a heatful THANKS to you for backing you son with this and thanks to him for serving our country. It's been a month since you son left, how's things going with him? I do read your post everytime I log on and wonder about you guys. It's great to see people support the armed forces. USMC 1980 to 1990.

Yeah I'm curious to see how he's doing and if you have heard anything from him. When my best friend went to basic, his mom said his first phone call, actually IN basic-not reception, was "Hey mom, I'm here, I'm bald, It's hot, I gotta go. Bye!"
Besides it's been 4-5 weeks.. it's one-third over!
Also, doesn't he get to come home for x-mas? I really thought all of the branches nowdays send the recuits home in basic for like 10 days or so. Is this true?

Havent been on in a bit. My son came home for the Holidays. WOOHOO! He'll be going back on January 3 for OSUT. His first call was basically, HELLO, ITS COLD, IM TIRED, LOVE YOU, BYE!Poor kid came back so sick but told us he misses it. He is different, in a good way. He left a good kid and came back a better Young Man. We put a sub and amp in his Jeep the other day and am about to put one in my jeep in a few after I finish posting. Thanks everyone, for asking about my son. My son has read these posts and it makes him proud. Me too! He told me to tell everyone thank you and Happy Holidays. LOL, he's outside rattling the windows off his Jeep as I type.
