You know there are alot of Jeep sites out there and they are very informative. But some do allow &^%*& a-holes to lurk around and take up space on these sites. You know the ones who write all that crap about someone's post or something, just looking to start an on-line argument. Well, it didn't happen to me, but I've seen it a few times and it does nothing but P--- me off. Since joining this site I've not seen much of that here seems people take offense to that here and are respectful to one another, granted a few thumps are fun, but the a-holes aren't. Good site, Thanks!

You missed the Rich era. That was certainly entertaining, but he was messed up in the head. This is a very courteous site, and nearly all opinions appear to be respected. WU seems to be the polar opposite of places like Pirate. All those forums have their place, and offer a wealth of knowledge. At the end of the day, its nice to come here and relax with friends. Its like Cheers. The odd thing is that the environment seems to come naturally, rather than via enforcement measures by the moderators. Thats a tribute to the membership.

Yep, I guess your right. The fact that this site does this naturally speaks wonders for the members. Yes, CHEERS!

I have to agree with you guys. Very rarely do people get rude or insensitive. Most speak their minds and let the quality of their message speak for itself . I also believe that since we are all driving pretty new Jeeps we have a different issues. Mostly upgrades rather then repairs. Also since LJ's cost much more (being newer) it keeps the number of youngsters down. I remember on another Jeep forum a guy had just got new Bushwacker flares, as a gift from his girl friend. He couldn't wait to tell everyone . They were not even installed yet. Some tool gets on a tells him he hopes he keeps the Jeep at the mall because Bushwackers are brittle and will just break on the trail. While he was sort of right in his answer (I know I have them) it was a s**ty thing to say. I replied" that was a real classy reply." The guy with the new flares never posted in that thread again. We don't have stuff like that here and that's why I like this forum, good people who just offer advise.

Yes Sir. That is why I have really grown to enjoy this site so much. I have even seen stuff on this site and people are soon to let the (&%(6 offender know that type of stuff is not tolerated here. Keep this site going!

In the short time I've been looking around here, I've noticed the same thing. Seems to be a good community here. I'm a moderator over at EarlyCJ5.com... where the same sense of family/community exists, and the flaming/namecalling so often seen on other sites is not tolerated. If you've got old iron and are looking for a site with a family-friendly atmosphere, check it out. I still hang out there, even though my '71 is gone. I can contribute with my knowledge and experience, but there's no help for me with my 'LJ... so I'm glad I found this place!

I just joined another jeep site for new jersey, hoping to get some friends nearby that enjoy wheelin as much as I do. First of all, the owner, maybe the mods want everyone to post a picture in their signature of "My Rig"
Let me tell you, I joined, a week went by, and how to post this rig thing was confusing. They friggin banned me for not posting "my rig" What yahoos. I finally emailed them and explained how it was confusing, and being the holidays, I didn't get it done. Well they let me back on, and we'll see what happens. Another thing, its a 4x4 site, but they don't like guys talking about the trails they were on, and having pics just in case it is private property. How the site and who decides to go where are 2 seperate things. So thanks mods and owners on here for being so great! ~JN

Holy crap, what a bunch of wankers. Maybe they should consider not wheeling on private property without permission, and then the picture policy would be OBE.
I'm afraid the picture of "my rig" would look surprising like a picture of "my finger".

I've seen on some other sites I visit and belong to how egos and personalities can be an issue. Takes away from the spirit of the "Jeep experience" Love this site..lots of friendly people.

I was on another site awhile back and it seemed that if you did'nt do anything major like adding a 5" lift with 35's along with a new roll bar and a 1500000000000 pound winch they did not want to answer any questions etc. *&%85 man it's a Jeep thing! What else can I say, this site is the real thing.......

1500000000000 pound winch a 1500000000000 pound winch is way overkill. Everyone here knows that you really only need a 1499999999999 pound winch. The real quesion, is that 1500000000000 pound winch electric, hydraulic, or old school PTO?

LOL , Ok I agree a 14999999999999 is all you need but that extra 1 might get you over the top. I would like a hydraulic though. Dang!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hydraulic is for punks. I've got just one word for you: nuclear. I just got a sweat deal on a refurb unit from the USS Nimitz. We can pull our friends out of mud holes and launch F/A-18's off the hood.
Now, I just need a pair of ACOS to level her out a bit.
