Nice job.....What did the total $$$$ come out to if you don't mind me asking. Good write up. I may have some questions in the future if I do this.

Nice job.....What did the total $$$$ come out to if you don't mind me asking. Good write up. I may have some questions in the future if I do this. It was around $650. If you can find a pick-n-pull with a good serpentine clutch, you can save the expense of the clutch, which was around $140. You can also trim here and there, but in the end, you probably only shoot yourself in the foot. I priced construction of a 12v system, with a tank, and found myself in the $400+ range, so the York-based system wasn't so bad. The big requirement for me was to have a tank, so I could install an airhorn, along with the ability to refill tires.

Thanks for the reply. That does not seem to bad considering what you can do with that set-up. Besides that will be one bad ass air horn.

I'm having a couple issues with the setup. The air hose I purchased at Ace Hardware is blowing out at the compressor. It can handle the psi, but not the heat. I need to find some air hose that handles the heat, or run a hard line from the compressor to the filter.
Also, I've discovered a few more microscopic leaks in the welds in my bumper. They bleed out about half the pressure in about 12 hours. This isn't a big deal for airing up, but would be inconvenient for the air horn setup. I'll get it fixed.

Everybody is probably sick of this thread by now. But for completion sake, I have fixed all the problems. I found a total of 4 small leaks in the bumper, all of which were sealed with simple J B Weld. After 24 hours, the pressure is still holding. I also bought some red hose from Napa which is appears to handle the temperature better. And I bought a coupler which allowed me to screw the line into the output of the compressor, instead of a hose barb and hose clamp. Now I'm set, and happy.
