I've been seriously researching these for a bit now, but unless you get hands on time with the product it's hard to come to a conclusion. I know it's a jeep forum, but maybe you fellas have answers. Since I just got a little bass boat - here's what I'm looking for. 1. point to point nav - turn-by-turn is just so darn cool As for street nav, I have used Mapopolis Navigator maps, Holux 230 (just got the 231) Bluetooth GPS and a Bluetooth Ipaq for several years now and it works great. Good easy to read maps and verbal instructions. The wireless/Bluetooth GPS works great and seems very accurate, however I use a remote external antenna and keep the Holux GPS unit inside the console on both my Jeep and my Expedition. I have used the same setup for geocaching a couple of times, but Mapopolis is a street map program and has no topo info. I have a Garmin handheld that I prefer for offroad. If anyone knows of trail maps or topo maps that work well on an Ipaq (Pocket PC), I would really like to hear about it.

Check out this link. www.fugawi.com/docs/navframe.htmlThis is what I am heading toward. Seems to have everything I am looking for and at a reasonable price. It can be upgraded with other software as well.

i got an iQue m3 for my birthday (today) ~400 bucks plus 50 for a 1gig SD card. I'm not going to lie, pretty awesome. It's a PDA that's pretty fast and functional, but battery life IS an issue as stated previously. the best part about it vs. all the other PDA/GPS devices is the GPS software. it's the same software on the Quest 2 so it's touchscreen with your finger instead of having to use the stylus (imagine doing that while driving).
i'm happy with it, but of course I didn't pay for it so that could be part of it.

I use a Garmin Rino 120. It has a built in FRS radio to keep in contact with others. If your buddys have a Rino, you can actually see where they are at on the display. If not, you can communicate just fine to other FRS radios. I paid $250 for it, then spent another $100 on the map software. It has a base map but I wanted more detail. A big downside to the unit is, it only has 8megs of memory, so when you are loading detailed maps, it gets sucked up pretty quick.
