Tim, On the KOZ bumper, how did the install go??? I'm about ready to ditch my hitch and get my departure angle back. I'm thinking about the KOZ bumper. Does it have tabs for the safety chains? On another note, did you keep the Bestop tire carrier?? How are you liking it? I'm thinking I'll just go with the bumper for now and when I go to 33" tires that I'll go with the Bestop carrier. It's either that, or dump $600 (or more) on a carrier/bumper combo right now...which is probably the right answer, I'm just wondering if I'd be kicking myself in the butt later for just going with a bumper now. Is the Bestop Carrier good, or would you have done it another way??? The KOZ install was very easy. The only difficult part was drilling 4 1/2-inch and 2 5/8-inch holes in the frame. The frame tie-in brackets come with the bumper. And yes, it comes with the safety chain holes. I like the bumper, and I like the Bestop carrier. However, I don't have any easy way to add jerry cans. If I had it to do over again, I would buy a bumper/carrier combo that had provisions for racks and jerry can mounts. My favorite is the Garvin. KOZ makes a bumper/carrier combo also.

I was looking at some hitches on ebay and don't understand why one for a regular TJ wouldn't fit the unlimited? At least thats what they are stating. Is there some differance in tha backend of the unlimited?

Even if it does fit the same, you would want the Class III hitch for the LJ versus the Class II Hitch for the regular TJ. More towing capacity.

It depends on how it mounts. The LJ has an extra bracket in the rear and some of the TJ hitches don't compensate. Now I'm not saying all of them won't fit...but some designs don't.
The Mopar varity would probably fit either (at least the one for the LJ would probably fit the TJ) but I have seen reviews on some of the Jeep parts sites where a TJ hitch failed to fit a LJ properly.
